In a webinar on the biodiversity of Prespa that was carried out by the Department of Forestry and Management of the Natural Environment at the Agricultural University of Athens on Friday 10th April, the president of the Management Body for the Prespa National Park, as well as personnel and partners of the Society for the Protection of Prespa, participated as speakers, while more than 100 students followed the presentations. The broad framework within which actions for the protection of the area are being implemented was discussed in the webinar, as well as more specific topics, such as the importance of Prespa for different species of plants. Other issues that the webinar touched upon were fish biodiversity and methods for monitoring the area’s waterbirds and how these have been implemented over time by the SPP, particularly through the management actions in the LIFE Prespa Waterbirds project.
