On the 15th and the 16th of December the team of the LIFE project, which consists of the representatives of the project partners, the Society for the Protection of Prespa, the National Observatory of Athens and the Tour du Valat, met in Prespes. Also present at the meeting were the scientific experts, Yirgos Parisopoulos and Tasos Dimalexis. Besides the meeting of the project team, another group, the Wetland Vegetation Advisory Group was formed. The role of this group is to determine the specifications for the studies and the implementation of the reed bed management actions.
The first day of the meeting, the Project coordinator presented, in full, all of the content, actions and objectives of the program, which were also discussed extensively. On the second day the team visited the areas of Leukona, Mikrolimni, Pili, Koula and Opayia and discussed the cutting of the reeds and important factors that will have to be taken into consideration, as well as, the actions which will take place at the drainage.
